My name is Idris. I aspire to study medicine, but right now I’m working as a tutor both online and in person.
I understand how difficult it can be to achieve top grades — because I’ve been there myself. When I sat my GCSEs, my school had us take them early, and I only received Cs in Year 9 and Bs in Year 10. Despite these setbacks, I used every challenge as an opportunity to learn from my mistakes. By Year 11, I had finally figured out the formula for success, allowing me to achieve multiple A grades in challenging subjects like Maths and Triple Science. Now, I want to share that same formula with you!
As a tutor, I focus on effective and efficient learning techniques. Some of the strategies I use include:
Guiding students and parents to key revision resources such as the subject specifications.
Prioritising active recall and productive study methods over passive revision.
Using spaced repetition systems (SRS) like the Anki app to help knowledge stick long-term.
